Getting Started

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for "AI-Ready Capture".
  2. Click Add to Chrome, then confirm by clicking Add extension.
  3. The AI-Ready Capture icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar. If not, click the puzzle-piece Extensions icon and pin AI-Ready Capture.

Installation is free and takes under 30 seconds. No account required.

Navigate to any web page, then either:

  • Click the AI-Ready Capture icon in your toolbar and select Capture Screen.
  • Use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Shift + P (Windows / Linux / Mac).

AI-Ready Capture automatically scrolls the page, stitches every section together, and opens the result in a viewer tab where you can download, copy, or annotate the image.

  1. Click the AI-Ready Capture icon in your toolbar.
  2. Click Record Screen.
  3. A recorder tab opens — click Start Recording.
  4. Chrome shows a picker — select the tab you want to record, then click Share to begin. ("Share" is Chrome's word for "start recording" — nothing is sent anywhere.)
  5. When done, click Stop Recording. Preview, trim, and download your video.

Yes. Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser address bar, find AI-Ready Capture, and click the pencil icon next to the shortcut you want to change.

AI-Ready Capture works in Google Chrome (version 88+), Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers that support the Chrome Web Store. Firefox and Safari are not currently supported.

Capturing

When you trigger a capture, AI-Ready Capture automatically scrolls the page from top to bottom, taking a screenshot at each step and stitching everything into one seamless image. The progress bar in the popup shows how far along the capture is. The final image opens in a new viewer tab.

  • PNG — Lossless, best for UI captures and images with text. Available on all plans.
  • PDF — Multi-page, perfect for sharing long pages as a document. Pro only.

You can also copy the image to your clipboard or use the Print button directly from the viewer.

Yes. Because AI-Ready Capture runs directly in your browser, it captures exactly what you see — including authenticated pages, dashboards, and content behind a paywall (as long as you are logged in). AI-Ready Capture does not store your credentials.

Most differences are caused by:

  • Sticky or fixed elements (navbars, cookie banners) — may appear repeated during the scroll-stitch process. Use the crop tool (Pro) to remove them.
  • Lazy-loaded images — try scrolling the page manually first, then capture.
  • Canvas or WebGL elements — these cannot be captured by browser APIs and will appear blank.
  • Cross-origin iframes — embedded content from a different domain cannot be captured due to browser security restrictions.

Chrome restricts extensions from capturing certain pages:

  • Chrome system pages (e.g. chrome:// URLs)
  • The Chrome Web Store itself
  • Browser new-tab / home pages
  • PDF files opened directly in the browser

Navigate to any regular http:// or https:// page and capturing will work normally.

Pro Features

After capturing a page, click the PDF button in the viewer toolbar. This exports the full-page image as a multi-page A4 PDF. PDF export is a Pro feature — activate your license key first if your trial has ended.

After capturing, the Pro editing toolbar is available in the viewer tab:

  • Draw arrows, lines, rectangles, and circles.
  • Add text labels in any colour and size.
  • Use the freehand pen for custom markups.
  • Place emoji as visual callouts.
  • Use the eraser to remove specific annotations.

Click Download to export the annotated image.

In the viewer toolbar, select the Blur / Redact tool, then drag a rectangle over the area to hide. Choose between:

  • Blur — mosaic blur over the selected area.
  • Black-out — solid black rectangle.

Redactions are permanent once exported and cannot be removed by the recipient.

  1. Click the AI-Ready Capture icon → Record Screen.
  2. In the recorder tab, click Start Recording.
  3. Select the tab, window, or screen in Chrome's picker, then click Share.
  4. A red Stop Recording button appears on both the recorder page and the tab being recorded.
  5. Click Stop Recording when done.
  6. Use the trim sliders to cut the start and end, then Download.

Recordings are saved to your device as WebM files — no uploads, no servers.

In the viewer toolbar, click the Timestamp button (Pro). A footer strip is added to the image showing the page URL and the date/time the capture was taken — useful for compliance, legal evidence, or audit trails.

Billing & License

Every new installation includes a 7-day free trial of all Pro features — no account or credit card required. The trial starts automatically from installation day.

When the trial ends, core features (capture, PNG download, copy to clipboard, and print) remain free forever. Pro features require a paid license key to continue.

  1. Click Upgrade in the extension popup, or visit the Pricing page.
  2. Choose Monthly ($1.99/mo) or Annual ($14.99/yr) and complete checkout.
  3. You will receive a license key by email in the format GRAB-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
  4. Open the extension popup → Upgrade → scroll to Activate License → enter your key and click Activate.
  5. Pro features unlock immediately — no restart needed.

No. Your trial start date is stored in your Google account via Chrome sync storage, which persists across reinstalls. This ensures fairness for all users. Signing into a genuinely different Google account does grant a fresh trial.

Cancel anytime from your payment provider's billing dashboard, or email support@aireadycapture.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access until then.

Yes — we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time Pro subscribers. Email support@aireadycapture.com within 7 days of your first charge for a full refund, no questions asked.

Check the confirmation email from our payment provider — your key is included there. If you can't find it, email support@aireadycapture.com with the address used at checkout and we'll resend it.

Troubleshooting

AI-Ready Capture cannot capture the current tab. This happens on Chrome system pages (chrome:// URLs), the Chrome Web Store, new-tab pages, and PDFs. Navigate to any regular http:// or https:// page and the icon becomes active.

This can happen on pages built with heavy JavaScript frameworks. Try these steps:

  • Reload the page, wait for it to fully load, then capture again.
  • Scroll to the bottom manually first to trigger lazy-loaded content, then capture.
  • Reduce browser zoom to 100% (Ctrl / Cmd + 0).
  • Temporarily disable other extensions — some interfere with the scroll algorithm.

If the problem persists on a specific site, contact support with the URL.

  • Reload and wait for the page to fully load before capturing.
  • Scroll to the bottom manually first, then capture.
  • Reduce browser zoom to 100%.
  • Disable other extensions temporarily.

If the problem persists, contact support with the URL of the affected page.

  • Go to chrome://extensions, find AI-Ready Capture, and click the reload (↻) icon.
  • Re-enter your key — make sure there are no extra spaces and the format is GRAB-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

If it still doesn't work, email support@aireadycapture.com with your key and we'll resolve it.

Make sure you select the specific tab you want to record in Chrome's picker (not "Entire screen"). If Chrome's "Stop sharing" bar doesn't appear after clicking Share, close and reopen the recorder tab and try again.

Privacy & Security

No. AI-Ready Capture only accesses the active tab when you explicitly trigger a capture or recording. It does not monitor, read, or transmit the content or URLs of pages you browse passively. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Everything is processed and stored 100% locally on your device. Screenshots download to your downloads folder. Recordings save as WebM files. Nothing is uploaded to any server — AI-Ready Capture has no backend storage.

  • activeTab / scripting — Required to scroll the page and take screenshots.
  • tabs — Required to open the viewer tab and detect the current page URL.
  • storage — Required to save your trial start date and license key.
  • identity — Reads a hashed version of your Google account ID to prevent trial resets on reinstall. Your email is never stored or transmitted.
  • clipboardWrite — Required for the "Copy to clipboard" button in the viewer.

AI-Ready Capture only stores your trial start date and license key in Chrome's sync storage. To clear it, remove the extension from Chrome and clear the extension data from your Google account's Chrome sync settings.
